Artificial Intelligence Applied to Physics’ Systems

Description:

In this project, we use Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to analyze the properties of physical systems. We explore the Neural Networks classification capabilities to make predictions for the transport and optical responses of semiconductor- and metal-based structures. Among the properties to be analyzed is the band non-parabolicity and its consequences over properties like optical absorption, photo-current.

Density Function Theory studies of metallic alloys

Description:

In this project, we analyze gold-based metallic alloys using the density functional theory (DFT) to obtain properties as electronic structures, the density of state, optical absorption, permittivity, and transport properties. Performing the structural optimization for alloys formed by different materials and with different concentrations, we aim to understand their properties allowing for application as photonic devices.
