Use of molecular, biochemical and cellular tools to identify and elucidate virulence factors in microorganisms and parasites.

2. Immunology of Infectious diseases:

Study of the immune response involved in human diseases and experimental models. Development of new immunological diagnostic tests and prospecting for new vaccines.

3. Identification of new antimicrobial and anti-parasitic agents:

Prospecting and synthesis of new antimicrobial and antiparasitic bioactive compounds through in vitro and in vivo tests. Development of bioinformatics tools and databases for prediction, selection and inference of new drugs for in vitro tests.

4. Biology of acute and chronic diseases:

Studies of the morphofunctional, molecular and therapeutic bases of human acute and chronic diseases.
