The residence permit is granted to immigrants, border residents or visitors who intend to reside temporarily or permanently in Brazil, provided that they meet the requirements of the required modality, under the terms of the Migration Law (Law 13,445, of May 24, 2017) and its regulation (Decree 9.199, of November 20, 2017).

 

The application for a residence permit BASED ON ONE OF THE HYPOTHESES LISTED BELOW must be filed directly with the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, via the MigranteWeb System , version 2.0.

I – in research, teaching or academic extension;

II – in work or offer of work;

III – in carrying out an investment;

IV – carrying out activities of economic, social, scientific, technological or cultural relevance;

V – in the practice of religious activity; It is

VI – in voluntary service.

 

The residence permit for work purposes may be granted to immigrants who work, with or without an employment relationship in the country.
