Title Recognition

After reading guidelines, you should now check the documents necessary for the recognition of the postgraduate diploma, in the order in which they should be made available on the Carolina Bori portal:

Personal Documentation
Personal Identification Document
– If foreigner, copy of the National Registry of Foreigners (RNE) or valid passport and visa.
Other Identification Documents
– Birth or Marriage certificate, when applicable.

Academic Documentation
Diploma Copy
– Diploma to be recognized, duly registered by the institution responsible for the diploma, according to the legislation in force in the country of origin, containing the visa of the Brazilian consulate or the legislation by the Hague Conference (Apostille: Convention de La Haye) held by a competent authority based in the country where it was issued.
– A statement from the institution that the diploma is valid in the country in which it is based and that the course is recognized by the respective educational authorities or accredited by the respective accreditation system, as appropriate

Dissertation or Thesis
– Copy of the dissertation or thesis, with a digital copy in a compatible format, and minutes of the defense/viva session of the dissertation or thesis or official document of the institution, which should include the date of the defense, if applicable, the title of the work, its approval and the concepts awarded, with identification of the examining bank and result of the evaluation, or equivalent academic evaluation document.

Defense/Viva Documents
– Names of the participants of the examining board, if applicable, and the supervisor, together with their summarized curricula;
– If the program of origin does not provide for the public defense/viva of the thesis, the student must attach a document issued and authenticated by the Institution of origin, describing the procedures for evaluating the quality of the thesis or dissertation adopted by the Institution, including a blind evaluation issued by an external reviewer.

Copy of School Record
– School Record concerning the course or equivalent document, describing the subjects or activities studied, with the respective periods and total workload, indicating the results of the evaluations in each discipline or document corresponding to the title containing the Brazilian consulate visa or the legalization by the Hague Convention (Apostille: Convention de La Haye) held by a competent authority based in the country where it was issued.
– Statement provided by the institution attesting to the student’s enrollment conditions.

Description of Research Activities
– Brief description of the research activities carried out and internships.

Scientific work
– Printed or electronic copy of the scientific papers resulting from the dissertation or thesis, published and / or presented in congresses or academic-scientific meetings, indicating the authorship, the name of the journal and the date of publication and / or name and place of the events where the works were presented.

Institutional Information
– Results of the external evaluation of the institution’s postgraduate course or program, when and where it has been carried out by public or duly accredited institutions in the country of origin, and other information about the reputation of the program indicated in documents, reports or reports.
– Documents provided by the educational institution, containing general information about the institution, as well as data and characteristics of the course related to selection procedures, deadlines and requirements for dissertation defense or thesis.

Others
– Declaration of the interested party on the time of effective stay in the Institution of foreign higher education.

Additional Documentation
– In the case of Diplomas obtained in Courses held in Institutions that do not require formal credits in disciplines, the interested party must instruct the process with data referring to the Institution of origin, duration and characteristics of the course, officially provided by the Institution without the Consular Visa requirement .

Supplementary Documentation
– proof that the person concerned resided, during the course of the course, in the host country of the teaching institution.
– Proof of residence of the applicant in Brazil, equal to the one informed in the application, being able to be water, electricity or telephone bill, not necessarily in the name of the applicant.

Payment voucher
After the conference of all the documents, UNIFAL-MG will issue a ticket for payment, which will be available at Carolina Bori Portal.

Important Informations:

The diploma, history, dissertation or thesis and statement provided by the educational institution attesting that the title is valid must be authenticated at a Brazilian Consulate located in the country of the course.

In the case of courses or programs offered in consortia or other collaborative arrangements between different institutions, the applicant shall present a copy of the documentation that establishes the cooperation or the consortium, as well as proof of possible support from international or national development agencies for the project collaboration.

In the case of double degrees obtained abroad, the applicant may request, in different proceedings, the recognition of the two diplomas by presenting a copy of the documentation proving the existence of the double titling program as well as the pedagogical project or curricular organization that gave rise to the double academic degree.
