Chemical Product and Process Engineering

Development of chemical products, processes and research on fundamental and strategic areas of chemical process engineering aiming at their rational application in the development of techniques for characterization, processing and production of materials and products of regional industrial importance.

Main research: production of adsorbents from solid waste; synthesis of heterogeneous catalysts; modelling and simulation of chemical reactors; study on separation processes based on phase equilibrium and mass transfer; modelling and experimental determination of thermodynamic properties of pure substances and phase equilibrium in mixtures at low and high pressures.
