Announcement on the offer of courses in 2020/02

Regarding RESOLUTION No. 8, OF JULY 1, 2020 established by the Council for Teaching, Research and Extension Programs – CEPE, the members of the Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL-MG) and the Faculty Board Members of the Chemical Engineering Postgraduate Program (PPGEQ) in its 48th meeting held on July 7 2020, announces that:

 

  1. The offer of courses by the program will be resumed from August 3, 2020, and will be offered remotely through activities using digital educational resources, information and communication technologies to be provided for in the course work plan.

 

  1. The courses will be offered continuously until December 31 2020 so that students are able to carry out activities until the aforementioned date to complete the course during this term. If the student has any complications and decides to stop carrying out activities, they will not be penalized. In this situation, grade I (Incomplete) will be assigned by the course professor and course credits obtained may be used in the future.

 

  1. During the PPGEQ, the following subjects are going to be taught in the second term of 2020: Master’s degree Seminars (Izabella Carneiro Bastos), Mathematical and Computational Methods in Chemical Engineering (Melina Savioli Lopes), Heterogeneous Catalysis (Sergio Andres Villalba Morales), Principles of Bioprocesses (Graziele Santos Silva Andrade), Spectrometry Applied in Chemical Analysis (Gian Paulo Giovanni Freschi and Roberto Bertholdo) and Special Topics I – “Industrial Enzymes: Kinetics, Immobilization and enzymatic reactors” (Ariela Veloso).

 

  1. The activities of the following subjects taught in the first term of 2020 are also to be resumed: Transport Phenomena (Rodrigo Corrêa Basso), Classical Thermodynamics of Fluids (Rafael Firmani Perna) and Applied Kinetics and chemical reactors (Sergio Villalba).

 

  1. The professors responsible for subjects referring to the second term of 2020 must forward the teaching program and an annex containing the activities guide (the graduation model can be used as a basis) for consideration by the Faculty Board until 07/24/2020.

 

  1. The professors responsible for the subjects of the first term must only send out the activities guide (a graduation model can be used as a basis) for consideration by the Faculty Board until 07/24/2020.

 

  1. It is recommended that professors should primarily carry out the proposed activities asynchronously so as to allow students to organize their studies according to their possibilities.

 

  1. The PPGEQ Faculty Board members will hold a meeting on 07/28/2020 to assess the teaching programs and guide of activities.

 

Other important pieces of information for students:

  1. The procedures for re-enrollment of subjects for the second term of 2020 are to be informed later, as dates and procedures have not yet been defined by COPG.

 

  1. The activities of subjects will be carried out according to the activity plan proposed by professors. Thus, students must focus on what is determined by the professor of each subject, since they may begin after August 3, 2020.

 

  1. If you have or know a student who has access problems to carry out the activities (lack of equipment or internet access, for example), please inform the program coordination office so as to evaluate a possible solution.
