ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES

Summary: Relationship between human populations and the natural environment. Human population trends, agriculture, air and water pollution, biodiversity, forest and land use, energy and mineral resources and toxic substances. Behavior of pollutants in different environmental compartments. Management of polluted environments. Pollution mitigation. Consideration of factors related to economics, legislation, politics, political behavior and ethical issues. Environmental Impact Assessment: history and applied legislation.
